Fall Cable Purse

Size: Size: 9 inches wide, 4 inches deep, 7 ½ inches high
Materials: 9 ounces worsted weight cotton yarn (The original was made with I Love This Cotton by Hobby Lobby, Color #52 Forest, Skein size 3.5 oz, 180 yds), #8 U.S. needles, G crochet hook, cable needle, large eye sewing needle
Gauge: 4 ½ sts = 1 inch in garter stitch
Abbreviations:
C1: Cable1: sl 4 sts to cable needle and hold in front of work, k4, k4 from cable needle
C2: Cable2: sl 4 sts to cable needle and hold in front of work, k3, p1, k3 from cable needle
Bottom:
CO 34 sts. Knit 30 rows in garter stitch
Body:
Pick up 14 sts along side, 34 sts along CO edge, 14 sts along other side (96 sts)
Join. P1 and PM. This is the new beginning of the rounds
Round 1: Purl
R 2: p1, *k2, p2 rep from *, end with p1
R 3: (Inc Round) p1, *m1, k2, p2, k2, m1, p2 rep from * end with p1 (120 sts)
R 4-8: p1, *k3, p2, rep from * end with p1
R 9: p1, *C1, p2 rep from * end with p1
R 10-16: p1, *k8, p2, rep from * end with p1
R 17: p1, *C2, p2, rep from * end with p1
R 18-30: p1, *k3, p2, rep from * end with p1
R 31: Round 9
R 32-8: Rounds 10-16
R 39: R17
R 40: (Dec Round) p1, *ssk, k1, p2, k1, k2tog, p2, rep from * end with p1 (96 sts)

Handle Holes
R 42: p1, (k1, ssk, yo, yo, k2tog, k1 p2), (k2, p2) 4 times, (k1, ssk, yo, yo, k2tog, k1 p2) 4 times, (k2, p2) 4 times, (k1, ssk, yo, yo, k2tog, k1 p2) 3 times, end with p1

R 45: Knit the knits and purl the purls as they face you
BO in pattern.
Handles:
I-cord: With 2 strands of yarn, CO 6 sts. Work I-cord for 36 inches or desired length. BO
Thread I-cord through Handle Holes as follows:
With CO edge, weave from public to private side of the 2nd yo, from the private to public side of the 3rd yo, from the public to private side of the 4th yo. Proceed in this manner until all holes have been used and the CO end is on the public side of first hole. Sew the CO and BO ends of I-cord together.
Closure:
With 4 strands of yarn, make a 3 ½ inch chain. Sew 2 ends to center top of one side of purse
Bobble:
With 2 strands of yarn, place slipknot on needle, leaving a 6 inch tail. Inc into this st as follows: *k1, yo, rep from * 3 times, k1. (7 sts)
Work 7 rows of st st, beginning with a purl row.
Dec Row: sssk, k1, k3tog.
Next Row: purl 3 tog. Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail and draw through stitch.
Insert small amount of cotton (or, use the cut off yarn ends) into center of bobble. Draw CO and BO tails together and sew on the opposite side from closure.
Weave in ends.
